One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite episodes. I read an interview where Windom said he didn't like sci-fi and he pictured his character as a comic-book figure. But he delivers a wonderful, gritty performance.

ST3 is one of the top 3 Trek movies, and the raging mentally disturbed nerds of yesteryear were exactly the same type of complete assholes we see today online who bitch about every goddamn thing. By sheer force of bullshit, they spread the rumor that ST3 was bad, or that the odd number films are bad. What a bunch of crap. ST3 is incredible. It's the perfect direct sequel to The Wrath of Khan.

The Enterprise dying hit me harder than when Spock died.

@2:07, the 60 second countdown started. @3:11, the Klingons enter the bridge, and yet, the 60 second timer is still going. @3:44, the timer reaches zero. That is a 37 second blunder. It was closer to 2 minutes than 1 minute. The only reason I checked the timing was because it just seemed much longer than 60 seconds. If they was off by 10 seconds, it would not have stood out. But 37 seconds is just too much of a blunder. The director had to know that they went well over 60 seconds. I understand that this is just a fictional movie. But when this type of blunder is included, it detracts from the adventure. When the director does not care, the audience notices.

As hard as it is to watch the enterprise be destroyed, I must say it’s still a cool scene. Always liked the line Bones says there at the end, “Turn death into a fighting chance to live.”

Commodore Decker is about one step foot away from getting his ass kicked by Captain Kirk.. and of course Mr. Spoock.... so don't f#°! with the enterprise ship (excuse my language, I'm sorry)... But this is the best tension scene from Star Trek...... and by merits... Captain Kirk puts Commodore in his place..

I always loved how Mr. Spock was able to keep a totally straight face when it was called for--zero emotion showing--so that it was nearly impossible to see what he was thinking.

A friend of mine cried like a baby . He returned to the theater several times & cried hard.

Notice how the security guards immediately responded to Spock's request to have Decker arrested, although by Star Fleet regulations Decker was legally in command. Love this moment and how Spock and the crew was loyal to Kirk and blast regulations. Great scene.....

After all these years it still hurts to see her go in this way.

Even as I watched this video, I couldn't help but flinch. I had built the big E back just before sfs came to video, it was lit from a charger style plug in, I was watching this one night after work and just the ship exploded, my hung model flashed brightly broke from its power line hanging line and crashed on the floor 5 ft. away and broke apart, I stopped the tape turned off the TV and went to bed, in the morning my father asked why I tried to burn my model...... guess were the disk burned. Even today I shiver remembering this. The model was hung above the TV, both "blew up " at the same time. Sorry no pics and I wasn't inebriated in any form.

Funny thing is the ship would blow up by now as It take longer for Klingon find the main deck 🤔

Great script writing never gets old. The scripts and acting made this show. Great special effects never make up for a great script.
